Rangers vs. Capitals Recap 4/5/2017

The Rangers lose to the Capitals 2-0 in an end of the season game.

The Rangers outplayed the Capitals mainly in the first. It was a very boring game since many of our starters were sitting, to prepare for the playoffs. Henrik Lundqvist seemed to be one of the only people trying. He’s trying to stay warm, and sharp for the playoffs. He’s gaining his playoff form, after being out for a couple of games. This game clinched us for the first wild care spot. We’ll play the Montreal Canadiens, another original six series in the playoffs. Ovechkin shot the puck from his usual spot at the face-off circle, and the goal was given to Williams, as it touched him (screening lundqvist) going in on the PowerPlay. Kuznetsov scored the last goal for the Capitals in the third period, giving them a 2-0 shutout. Both goaltenders, as usual, played well. It’ll be interesting to see how these teams play come playoff time.
