Rangers vs. Panthers Recap 3/7/2017

Tonight, The Rangers win 5-2 against the Panthers.

From the start of the game the Rangers had control. In the First, Kreider put the Rangers on the board with a deflection goal from a Kampfer shot. Then to my very happy surprise, Glass scored off of an assist from Lindberg and Kampfer again.

In the second Hayes gets on the board from a Brady Skjei assist. Then Holden was able to put one in off of a Lindberg and Glass assist, Glass with the screen in front allowed the goal to go in.

Then finally in the third Buchnevich was able to get the empty net goal from a Nash pass. I am so happy tonight to see Tanner Glass get a two point night with his assist and goal. After all the hate he has received, I don’t think I have celebrated that hard all season after a goal. Well deserved and can’t help but feel very happy for him, plus I enjoy seeing all the Ney Sayers go silent. Rick Nash continues to play well and do just about everything except score. I have to believe something is going to give for him soon. Buchnevich continues to play noticeably well, and even blocked a hard shot in the third to keep us up. This blocked shot gave him a lot of recognition from his teammates when he got back to the bench. Steven Kampfer with his two assist night is starting to show that he might end up sticking around in the Rangers’ lineup because of his recent play. Oscar Lindberg also picked up two assists tonight, and has really played strong as of late. Because of this, I think AV should give him a shot on the struggling PowerPlay.

Although Hank had to save 43 shots tonight, the Rangers still controlled the game, but that doesn’t mean Hank didn’t have another grade A performance to give his team the win. Hank is now in soul possession of 10th place on the NHL’s all-time wins list. He has also passed Martin Brodeur for the most wins by a goaltender in his first 12 seasons in NHL history. Also, he is the first goaltender in NHL history to earn 30 or more wins in 11 of his first 12 seasons. Great game for the Rangers tonight. Congratulations Glass with the Broadway hat.

  1. Great recap, James. Didn’t get to watch, but also happy for Glass. Unfortunately, that won’t shut the naysayers up, I bet they’re relentlessly hating on him for this performance. I like your idea of using Oscar on the PP. At this point, anything is worth a shot.

I don’t know how old u are, but the last time our PP was any good was with the great Jaromir. I wonder if he’s still playing in the NHL… 😉
