Rangers vs. Devils Recap 2/25/2017

The New York Rangers win tonight in overtime against the New Jersey devils 4-3.

In the first period, Girardi had a slapshot at the point that deflected off of kreider to put us on the board. Following that, Holden entered the offensive zone and drop passed to Fast who then passed to Lindberg for another goal.  The Rangers had a 2-0 lead for most of the game.

In the second the Devils cut the lead to 2-1. In the first two minutes of the third period, the rangers fell apart somewhat on defense, letting the devils score two quick goals to take the lead at 3-2. The second goal went over Raanta’s glove, it was a goal that should’ve been saved. The third, a huge screen in front of Raanta.

Late in the third period however Clendening scored to tie it at 3-3. In over time Palmieri had a breakaway chance but Raanta stopped him, then stopped him again on the rebound to allow the NYR to retrieve the puck and go right back down the ice. The NYR got the puck up right away to Zibanejad who beats Schneider through the 5 hole. This win gives the NYR number 40 on the season. Good job boys.
