Rangers vs. Islanders Recap 2/16/2017

Rangers lose 4-2 to the Islanders tonight after a lackluster performance in front of hank. The entire team struggled defensively tonight. Hank made several tough saves to keep them in it, but it wasn’t enough to come back in the third after a shorthanded goal against.

Especially on the powerplay the rangers were being  “to cute” with the puck and it cost them in the end. The powerplay continues to struggle as of late. There are a couple positive things to take away from tonight, but not many. Vesey had a strong night and looks to be gaining his form back. He has also scored in back to back games. Another thing to take away from the game, Skjei continues to quietly pick up points with 2 assists. Only being a rookie hasn’t stopped him from coming in and making a difference for the Rangers on defense. Rangers will have to bounce back on Sunday against the NHL’s hottest team, the Capitals.
